On September 3, 2015 I created and posted my first photo to my Instagram Account, the one for my blog anyways… I had been posting for years on my little private account… But that’s not what this is about.

My best friend said “I bet you could do pretty well on there, you could probably get like 1,000 followers!”

Well here it is, one year later and I am at well over 60,000 followers. This has gone far beyond what I ever imagined. And one year ago if you told me that I would one day make money off Instagram I’d have told you you were crazy.

This was written a few days in advance of this post. I’m currently in the wilds of Tajikistan with zero internet access.

So here it goes: my top posts in my first year!

The kaleidoscopic colors a #backpacker's dreams are made of.. This is my bff @tayzertravels standing in awe in front of #Vinicunca, also known as the #RainbowMountain. This trek that brought @tayzertravels and I just under 17,000 feet (5,181 meters for you metric users… AKA most the world) was the highlight of my #travels in Peru and one of my favorite memories of #SouthAmerica. Taking it all in at #Alaska's Eagle and Symphony Lakes near #EagleRiver. Eagle lake is the one on the right, opaque green in color. Symphony Lake on the left is more cerulean blue in color. Each #lake is created by a different glacier. The sun reflecting off the minerals in the glacial silt in the water gives each lake its own unique color. .……………………………………………………………. It's around 12 miles round trip to do this #hike. The setting sun reflecting its late afternoon light off the rock formations along the Northrim of the #GrandCanyon. Much prettier opposed to the pouring rain I wandered around in the first two days I was there thanks to the good ol monsoon season.
